So...the Maurie & Eve Autumn 2012 collection has been doing the blog rounds lately, I think everyone is pretty ecstatic about those pants in the first picture! Hopefully they're silk. So Céline!

This is the first time I'm trying out something by make-up label Korres, the Lip Butter Glaze in Jasmine is the most wonderful buttery nude ever. I have a hard time finding nude products that sit well with my skin tone so I think this is it! Very moisturizing so it gets double the points and I heartily recommend it!

Yesterday I ended up going to Itaewon and popping into Life Is Just A Cup Of Cake to try out a cupcake. I always try the Red Velvet (that is if they make that kind) when I find a new place and judge from there. You're probably thinking that I should probably rename this blog Fashion Cupcakes or something I know since I talk about them so much. I am a little too enthusiastic about making/eating them but seriously those little things are just a passion of mine.

So...cake thoughts.... for starters, the price is around 4,800 Korean Won (which is like 4.50-5 bucks??!) for a decidedly midget-sized cupcake. In my opinion it was too crumbly (I usually like mine extra moist) and I don't like to waste bread...however the cream cheese frosting was really good so a major save there. The cafe is literally tiny- if I step on my tippy-toes I can touch the ceiling and let me tell ya I'm a shorty. I think the cafe has somewhat of a cult following though, the lady behind me bought 28 to go and ended up forking over at least $120 and literally cleared the trays.

Anyhow, it's not bad so make sure to pop by if you're ever in Seoul.

I find myself wandering around the streets of HongDae a lot lately. Loads of interesting shops, quaint little cafes & winding lanes choc-a-bloc full of inspiration and dreams. Maybe I'll take my camera with me today and take some photos for you. It snowed yesterday so I'm sure the streets are even prettier.

I'm back in Seoul now and can I say that it is sjhy#&*@ freezing here at the moment. Loving these sunny images of label Scotch&Soda's women line, Maison Scotch. Scotch&Soda has been on my clothing radar for a while. I love their relaxed, slightly preppy vibed clothes.

These past two weeks I took a break from everything including blogging in order to clear my head. In short, 2011 was one heck of a year as it really shook my world and fundamentally changed me and I am so glad and relieved that it is finally over. I am really excited and nervous about what this new year will bring for my life, my studies, my friends and loved ones. Those who have been with me from the beginning probably know by now that I am a person who dislikes drastic change. I've been blogging for about four and a half years or so and the layout of my blog has not changed a bit so it speaks for itself. This year I know I want to go in a new direction with everything in my life so expect some slow & steady changes but my mantra will continue to stay the same: I only blog about what I like.

I know it's late but here's to 2012.

This bag has been at the TOP of my year-long/ christmas list ever since I saw it in a paparazzi pic of Zoe Saldana. It is such a great, structured bag!!!!

This year Christmas has been a bit of a blur, a bit too fast due to school assessment and exams. The only Christmas-y thing I've done so far is dump loads of cinnamon on my cappuccinos. Pretty sad, huh. LOL.

I'm currently demolishing a huge hunk of Cadbury's milk chocolate as I write this. I asked a visiting friend from Australia to bring me the latest RUSSH and a bar since I was going through heavy and major withdrawals of each. Flicking through the latest Oct/Nov issue, I can literally feel the anticipation for a hot and heavy Oz summer on every page. Just glorious. I'm so jealous. Summer braids, beach & new skincare inspo are some of my fave spreads that I had to snap pictures above and share.
I also finally got around to test-driving the Anastasia Beverly Hills Salon Beauty express for brows and eyes kit in brown. It comes with a multitude of helpful stencils but unfortunately I couldn't find the perfect one for my face (guess it wasn't made for Asians, har har) so I just free-styled mine. If you are a bit of a brow maniac I definitely suggest it!

This "Makeup for glasses" video and the ten, lovely beauty tips below are from http://thebeautydepartment.com/.
I'm a glasses girl who always ends up leaving the house in a hurry without doing anything to my eyes because I see no point to it. Now I do.

1. Glasses cast a shadow so you’ll need to cover undereye circles with a non-creasing concealer. Our model True is using Cle de Peau Concealer in Ochre but it’s an investment. You can also try a peach-toned concealer (on the color wheel, orange is the opposite of blue, so it will cancel it out) such as Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage.

2. Because glasses will leave marks in liquid/cream foundations, switch to a mineral powder foundation (Youngblood Natural Mineral Foundation in Honey) and swirl it all over your face with a powder brush.

3. Because glasses draw attention to the eyes, you’ll want to frame them by defining the brows. You can use a brow shadow + brush like True uses in the video, or a brow pencil works great too.

4. Highlight the lid with a lighter shimmer like True used from this Dior 5-Colour Palette in Amber Design.

5. Add depth with the medium shade in the crease.

6. To really open up the eye, add a white or nude liner to the inner waterline. Stila Kajal Liner in Topaz is perfect.

7. Then line the top and bottom lashlines with the emphasis on the bottom. True used the dark brown shade from the Dior palette.

8. Really give your lashes a good pinch with your eyelash curler so they don’t hit the lenses. Always remember to pinch three times, first at the root, then walk the curler out a third of the distance and pinch again, then another third out and one last pinch.

9. Follow with a coat of mascara then put your glasses back on.

10. Now that you can see exactly where to place your blush, finish with a pretty pink blush + a pop of color on the lip, True used Sephora Ultra Vinyl Lip Pencil in Rasperry.

Midterm exams had me dreadfully busy this past two weeks but I'm finally done now and I'm back! This post is not at all fashion-related but I thought a post that dog-owners/lovers would appreciate. Making healthy, homemade munchies for your loveable canine is one of the best things you can do to show your love. Saving this one for the day I get my own doggie. I can't wait.

Bacon “Bark” Sticks

Makes 24

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 ¼ cups fat free milk
1 tablespoon honey
4 tablespoons bacon fat
¼ cup bacon, crumbled
2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large bowl whisk together the egg, milk, honey, bacon fat, and bacon.
3. Stir the flour in, ½ cup at a time until full incorporated.
4. Knead the dough until fully combined.
5. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface into a 4” by 12” rectangle.
6. Using a pizza cutter, cut out 4” by ½” sticks until all the dough has been used.
7. Line the sticks on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
8. Cool completely before serving.
9. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Those who know me know that I am quite the cupcake fiend. The red velvet and orange cream cheese at Frosted Cupcakery (1200 N. Highland Ave. Los Angeles CA 90038) were particularly delightful, extra fluffy and cushion-y. I did not have the chance to try out the legendary Sprinkles cupcakes but I heartily recommend this place to anyone if you happen to hang out in LA.

Every morning I am greeted by Lara Stone in her new Naked Glamour adverts while waiting for my bus in the mornings and later on when I go home. It seems like she is literally everywhere at every stop in Seoul. This and the sudden awareness of my post-summer vacation flabbiness had me finally (nervously) walking over to the local gym for a month's membership (I had been eyeballing it for the past three weeks while it was still under construction). Except I was somehow coerced into paying for the bargain and came out with a yearly. Oh geeeeeeeeeeez.
I know I'm never going to end up like Ms. Stone but my goal from now on is to become more toned, fit and healthy. I am quite amused at myself really- this is sort of a new year's resolution (idea) that has somehow hatched 8 months late. I guess I wasn't ready 8 months before.

Sort of a funny name for a French label (shouldn't it be like avril, mai ?) but it doesn't matter because the clothes are definitely my cup of tea. I am a huge fan of make-up but the funny thing is is that most of the time I hardly wear any. The most I wear is when I go out on the weekends but even that entails only foundation, blush and a lippie. No eye make-up because everything just smudges (it certainly doesn't help that I have asian eyes) and I totally skip the mascara but I am quite obsessed with procuring the perfect eyebrow. A good brow does wonders to your facial features.
I have major brow envy when I see ladies with thick, lucious brows- think Megan Fox, Tallulah Morton, Camilla Belle. Many of my friends pluck their own, wax, go to the Benefit brow bar, grow out and do all sorts of things to obtain their perfect arch. I was plucking mine the other day and was just wondering, what do you do with your brows to keep them in tip-top shape?

p.s. Anastasia of Beverly Hills has partnered with The Confluence and they have contacted me to review their Beauty Express Brow Kit for brunettes so I can't wait to get my hands on it! Will definitely tell you how it goes.

I took a spontaneous trip to Daegu for a couple of days and just got back home the other night. I definitely missed the simple comforts of certain things like air-conditioning, using my own shower stall and my pillow. Home sweet home.

P.S. While I was there I went to the hairdressers and got my hair dyed! It is now a uniform dark, dark shade of brown. I got rid of my beach-induced sun-streaks and now I'm totally loving it.
