Spring with Julep

Today I want to talk about nail polish options for Spring. Obviously this post is for my Southern Hemisphere chicas because I know the rest of you are probably excited about wearing snuggly sweaters and drinking hot chocolate but I am so happy about shedding my layers and wandering ouside in just a t-shirt over here in Australia. Bring on the warm weather!

I came across this street-style image that was the main inspiration for this post. This colour mix is just great and everything I want to be wearing right now on my nails i.e. cool taupes, greys and navy blues and not all the cliche pastel colours just because it's flower season.

packing for a summer beach vacay

Okay, an imaginary beach vacation since I'm still stuck in Seoul. Hapari kindly sent over a swimsuit in prep for the impending Summer so I sat down and put together a few things that I would take with me to a hypothetical tropical destination. A lot of sunscreen and samples beacuse who wants to lug all the heavy stuff to the waterside: Kiehl's Creme de corps body moisturizer, Innisfree camellia curling hair essence, Nuxe creme nirvanesque, Skin79 BB (it has SPF50 !), Avène creme emolliente, Coles sunscreen, Botanic Hill Boh moist youth ampoule essence, Petitzel mango jelly (girl's gotta snack), loud accessories and a stripey beach towel!!!

The style of the bikini is called the Mikado tie front string bikini, which I chose because of the criss-cross design in front that makes it a little different and more interesting than the average top. You can mix and match with different bottoms but I prefer good coverage so I went with the Mikado regular bottoms. I did have a bit of a postage issue but their customer service was excellent and the problem was quickly smoothed over. 

This is my first yellow-coloured bikini so I'm super excited to slip into this one! Now if only I had that plane ticket...

This bubblegum lipscrub totally smells like fizzy pink lemonade, it's sooo yummy. I just bought it today and the colour and smell inspired me to put together this mini collage of current must-haves in addition to some others on the wishlist. I also found the perfect nude lipstick at David Jones! Originally I had it in a lip palette and I didn't know it was available in an individual tube as well. I've been using it quite regularly because it looks great on my lips- not too washed out/doesn't make me look sick. It's taken me ages to find the proper nude shade for myself so I'm super happy about that. I nearly gave up my search after a few disastrous attempts at the MAC counter in Seoul.
