Florals for Spring
Oh my gawd! Who new???
When Luella showcased their Spring 2008 ready-to-wear collection with an abundance of ruffles, florals and 'geek-chic', I thought at least the flower business would be a passing trend but now with all the fashion mags out there reassuring me that florals are totally 'IT' for this year (quite amusing how it HAS to be on print for it to be OFFICIAL) and with colourful prints from Balenciaga, lovely dresses via Stella McCartney and Ralph Lauren plus Dolce & Gabbana's arty ad campaign has me totally convinced.
The ruffle-tiered mini skirt has been an ongoing trend in Seoul but a shopping trip to DongDaeMun (동대문) has shown me that those exact same Luella skirts (in the first pic) have totally made their way down mainstream.

Floral prints

Not long ago, I stumbled upon a summertime bazaar that was held at the Lake Park near my home (apparently, it's an annual thing or something...).
Apart from the usualtoys, children's books,
shoes, etc
and the gaggle of children and their families shouting at the top of their lungs to sell their goods, it was interesting to go there and take a good look. There really wasn't anything particularly good to buy, I tried on a pair of knee-high vintage leather boots but alas, they were too small! But I did manage to get this chiffon white, flower-print dress for 4,000 won. Like new, and very cool to wear in the hot summer.
Delicate florals are safe to wear but why not go for signature-bold prints too? These dresses would be perfect to pair with white heels or a pair of wedges...Flower print belted dress, Monochrome tree print dress, Tulip print maxi dress (all Topshop)
