Coffee Prince 1호점

I don't know if you've seen this drama, I don't know if you know that Korean dramas exist at all???!! But not long ago MBC's Coffee Prince 1호점 was a massive hit in Korea. Rarely do I watch dramas from start to finish (or even bother to watch any at all) but this time I have to say I really enjoyed watching the short-yet-sweet series.I'm not going be a spoiler and blab about the plotlines so I will keep my lips sealed for the time being. Anyhow, the series was filmed in a coffee shop during the summer of '07. And heaven behold, I found out sometime later that this same coffee shop had reopened for the public and it's location was in Hongdae! I thought it would be in some rich Kangnam neighbourhood, you see. I happened to have dinner with a friend last week in the Hongdae area and I thought it'd be nice to visit the place so off we went. Looks as if the people refused to change anything about the place because it looked exactly like the way it was when they shooted it. A big pity that the second floor was unavailable for sitting. The coffee was disapointedly just mediocre as with the decor (if truth be told, there are heaps more decorated cafes in Seoul) but it had a warm atmosphere and was surprisingly less busier than I expected. It was nice to look at the doodles on the windows made by the lead actress Yoon Eun Hye. Whether you're a drama-junkie or not, Coffee Prince would be nice to visit on a one-off if you're ever in Seoul- just for all the memories. Location:
Get off Hongdae Station (Subway Line 2) Exit 4. You will see Seven Springs family restaurant right in front. Walk straight ahead until reaching a T-section and turn left. Turn right into the street when you see Hongik Galbee. Keep on walk ing straight and it will be on the right at the end of the long street.
