hmmm...am back. I must say that I deserve a good self-pat on the back for consistently updating my advent countdown this past month, juggling blogging and exams and academic work is quite the task! Looking back on my posts I'm quite amused with the fact that I constantly posted about my longing for new handbags and shoes. I am quite the shoe fanatic! All is fairly quiet on the blogging front right now, I'm pretty sure everyone is busy with family, holidays and preparing for New Year's. Today I was roaming around the net and I came across the now not-so-new but new issue of Preen magazine (Issue 5) and it is quite appropriate that I post this up since it is quite a nonchalant Friday afternoon...Tis' Friday and I'm in love.....with this picture. I wish my future house will have nice, big, glass windows such as these. I would love to spend my afternoon on a window sill looking at the scenery...wearing those Chloe boots.
Actually now I think about it, I want this whole house.

I love Tod's bags. Actually, the Tod's Patent D-Bag was the first handbag that I really wanted after glancing at it in a magazine. It may seem a little blah but I think it's very simple and versatile, plus it's in PATENT leather which is a must for me! The weird thing is, is that there's a huge price difference between the D-bag above and a similiar Tod's New D-bag Piccola. Perhaps because it's a little bit more boxy???!I guess the ideal bag for me, would be the patent D-bag in a navy blue colour.

For some reason, I really like this bag. People say that it looks somewhat like srunched-up, scraggly plastic bag but I think it's quite unique in all it's little ways, or should I say big (?) because it is quite a big bag. I was pleasantly suprised to see that the Louis Vuitton Olympe Nimbus GM in
milky gray was currently on the arms of Hilary Duff and a certain Miss Miller. It looks good on them, non? I'm not really into following all the "it" bags, so I was a little disappointed that it finally wound up on a celebrity, but considering all the ambivalent feelings, I think it's still safe from paparazzi-exploitation. Louis Vuitton Olympe Nimbus in Ecru was the original one that I liked after seeing it in the Louis Vuitton ads, but the milky blue is nice too. Personally, I think the bags would look better in person, what do you think?

It's that time of year for parties and what not. How's this Elijah sleeveless tie dress ($265) for attending that Christmas party? Is it too paradoxical for me to say that this dress is both sexy yet demure??? The deep purple is gorgeous and I love the tie accent (I like them when they're interesting like that) and as with the slit in the back...make sure to pair it with black tights because it's way too chilly outside right now.

Hmm... found the matching pants!
Do you think it would be over doing it if you wore the jacket and the pants together? Is it possible to have too much tartan???
The J. Crew City-fit Black Watch Tartan Skipper pant is currently sold out.

Hongdae Free Market: Part Two
Here's part two of my trek to the Hongdae Free Market...Carticatures drawn on the spot. What do you think? Does it resemble the girl at all???
The handsome, yet arty toilets.
The market itself is held in a playground area. Some singers sang a lovely rendition of Will Smith's "Just the Two of Us".The funniest ever~ 'A Better Tomorrow' duo performing. It was a chilly day that day and it poured when 'A Better Tomorrow' performed. Lovely place to visit, again if you happen to be in Seoul.Location: Get off Hongdae station (subway line 2) Exit 5. Walk straight ahead and turn left at 'Omuto Tomato'. Walk straight until reaching the Hongik Uni. main gate and then cross the street. The market is held in the playground area.

Hongdae Free Market: Part One
I've finally found the time to post about my recent trek to the Hongdae area. Because I've got too many pictures to show all at once I'll be posting part two of my expedition tomorrow, so make sure you come back to check it out! :)
Hongdae is known for two major things: bars/clubs and the arty atmosphere due to the closeness of the Hongik University campus which is known to excel in churning out lots of talented people from the arts and music field. Every Saturday (I think from Mar. to Nov.?) there is a Free market (which I mistakenely understood for 'flea-market') which involves ordinary people, uni students who come out to sell their hand-made wares.
Free market concert which showcased singers entertaining the public with their lovely voices. Lots of cell phone accessories for sale. Probably because they are one of the easiest things to make en masse and appeal to people because of its erm...practicality? and charm, of course. Funny faces that were drawn on pottery. On the same note, there were lots of clay-baked jewellery as well. Loads of cute earrings, necklaces, brooches. However what I liked most were the hand-made blank notebooks that were for sale. The cover art was amazing, I stood there for minutes on end trying to pick which one I should get.
Oh my, the cats were so gorgeous! Do you recognize the red notebook with the black cat with green eyes? I posted about that very thing earlier on, turns out that it was a great birthday gift after all.
More cellphone accessories.

This is absolutely ridiculous of me considering it SNOWED in Seoul the other day, but I will insist upon posting about these Vachetta sandals ($88) by J.Crew. Look at the choice of gorgeous colours! If only it were summer already!

An item that has been on my radar for ages: Christian Louboutin simple leather pumps ($575). Nude-coloured heels are very versatile plus they will extend your legs for miles on end....It seems like I'm writing a lot about Hayden Panettiere at the moment, so I guess she's making some good choices. Her and also Hilary Duff have been embracing this nude-effect for a while now- and I can only drool away from afar. It would be a dream to get my toesies in a pair of Louboutins.

Are argyle prints too preppy, do you think? I like my shirts and sweaters to be striped, checked, plaid, printed you name it. I love the whole classic look which explains my preference towards Polo Ralph Lauren. I have never invested in a good piece of cashmere clothing in my life (tis' a bit pricey) but I know the material feels goooood. This is a question directed to US-based people, have you had experience buying from the retailer, J. Crew? If I were to go to America would it be a good brand to purchase from? On the left: J. Crew Cashmere argyle crewneck sweater ($168)

I have to say I love the waist slimming effect of this Petite Double-cloth Dover coat ($239.99) on the left. This would be perfect paired with shiny patent leather boots in.....striking RED? Has anyone had experince in wearing white-coloured coats? I don't usually buy very light-coloured outer garments because I think that they're a huge bother trying to keep clean all the time. What do you say?
I think this is an excellent alternative to wearing one of those high-collared coats that are all the rage in Seoul at the moment. Take this Visit in New York Half-coat for example, below (Korean brand). I'm quite bored with them already, trust me it's not intersting when you go on campus and see every other girl in one of these type of coats, not to mention all the department stores... If you really need that high collar, I think there's nothing more sophisticated than upturning a normal collared coat (like in the style above). However, I have to admit that Hayden Panettiere looks smashing in hers with loud buttons, though I much prefer her gold peep-toe Christian Louboutins.

Way too cold to wear right now since it's freezing cold over here but it's such a sweet little piece by the one-and-only Nicole Miller. The sweetheart neckline is too cute. You can always save it up for next year... :)Nicole Miller Silk color-block dress ($400)

C-chic
Loving that look. I'm a huge fan of Yoon Eun Hye, Korean actress/singer, who you probably recognize (again) from me raving about her performance in the Coffee Prince drama.I am totally loving this androgenous chic look that she has going on for a shoot in Vogue Girl Korea. The hat, the dark moody colours, the subtle boxiness, combined with the girly, big bow and sky-high heels. I only wish that I could wear an outfit like that to class everyday~sigh.
